The invasion of Ukraine in early 2022 led to enormous upheaval, forcing millions of people to flee, with a third of the entire population uprooted. Many fled with what they could carry, with no idea where they would end up, or when they’d return home. As the war has dragged on the situation has become more difficult for those who were displaced, or those who had no choice but to stay behind in their war-ravaged homes.

The most vulnerable parts of the population – internally displaced people, people with disabilities, the elderly, single parents, families with many children, pregnant women, the unemployed, orphans, and family members of deceased military/veterans – struggle to meet even the basic essentials of life.

What is the Winter Warmer Appeal?

It’s Good Neighbours Australia’s annual appeal that raises funds and gathers donated goods such as warm bedding, hot water bottle covers, clothing, toys and hygiene items to help Ukraine’s most vulnerable people get through the harsh winter months.

Since 2022, Good Neighbours Australia supported by donors including the Australian Crafters Aid Network (ACAN), Wrap With Love, Underworks, Soap Aid and others has helped provide hot food, psychosocial support, warm bedding, clothes, toys and hygiene items to vulnerable Ukrainians through the annual Winter Warmer Appeal.

Your donation goes directly to the Winter Warmer efforts in Ukraine, funding the deployment of winter items and other services for the hardest-hit groups, including internally displaced people, people with disabilities, the elderly, single parents, families with many children, pregnant women, the unemployed, orphans and family members of deceased military personnel or veterans.

Good Neighbours Australia is a registered charity. Donations are tax-deductible. You will receive a receipt for your records.
