Emergency Response
When disadvantaged communities are faced with a sudden crisis, disaster relief is delivered immediately in the form of nutrition supplies, shelter and medical support.
Immediate relief efforts often focus on the most vulnerable members of a community, being children. Creating child-friendly spaces and providing psychological support services help address the immediate concern for their safety while addressing the long-term need for trauma recovery.
Long after the initial crisis, Good Neighbours stays on in communities to help rebuild homes, livelihoods and initiate major reconstruction projects. Implementing disaster risk reduction programs is also key to ensuring communities have the resources and infrastructure, so they are better equipped should disaster strike again.
Our Australian office supports emergency relief both here and overseas. Whether responding with food hampers for displaced refugees arriving in Australia or meals for those affected by bushfires, relief efforts respond at both the domestic level and to international crises as they arise.

How to Give
Good Neighbours Australia supports community development initiatives locally and internationally. When you give a recurring donation to support community projects, your contribution will be allocated to a range of ongoing initiatives.
Your support will be directed to various infrastructure projects, dedicated training programs and provision of resources, all with the view to making communities more self reliant, resilient and sustainable for the long-term.

"The support of Good Neighbours is invaluable. When Ukrainians receive gifts like this, it helps them feel welcome in Australia. When they come here and see people doing good things, like Good Neighbours, they feel very thankful."
Andrew Mencinsky, Ukraine Council of NSW
