Emergency Response
When communities are faced with a sudden crisis, disaster relief is often delivered through our global affiliates in the form of nutrition supplies, water, shelter or medical and psychological support. Once need assessments have been conducted, further assistance may be requested through the global network, for emergency relief funds or in-kind supplies.
Since 2022, Good Neighbours Australia has supported Good Neighbors as it has delivered programs for displaced children and their families in Romania and Ukraine. Funds raised first focused on providing nutrition supplies and psychosocial support for children and their families.
From 2023 on, support turned to providing large quantities of warm bedding, clothes and hygiene products, generously donated by Australian volunteers, community-based organisations and businesses, which have been shipped to Ukraine as part of our annual Winter Warmer campaigns.

Emergency Appeal for Nepal
On August 26, 2026, a devastating flash flood triggered by a glacial lake outburst and avalanche struck Nepal, causing widespread destruction and loss of life. The surge reportedly claimed hundreds of lives, while many others remain missing or injured.

Winter Warmer Appeal for Ukraine
The invasion of Ukraine in early 2022 led to enormous upheaval, forcing millions of people to flee, with a third of the entire population uprooted. Many fled with what they could carry, with no idea where they would end up, or when they’d return home. As the war has dragged on the situation has become more difficult for those who were displaced, or those who had no choice but to stay behind in their war-ravaged homes.
