Period Poverty Workshops
Period poverty, or the lack of available resources to properly manage menstrual health, affects millions of girls around the globe, yet the topic often remains taboo. Through GNAU’s Period Poverty Workshops, we aim to open up the conversation, empowering people to advocate for period poverty awareness in Australia while also supporting girls affected by period poverty across the globe.
At our newest workshop offering, participants will learn how period poverty keeps girls from attending school in places like Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines and Bangladesh. Then, your group will get hands-on making personalised period tracker bracelets. Each bracelet will be sent, along with a menstrual health care kit and personalised message of hope and encouragement to a girl in one of our community development projects.
Workshop Details
- Activity: Make a period tracker bracelet
- Group size: Up to 50 people
- Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
- Location: Sydney (indoor venue with chairs, tables, projector and screen required)
- Includes: All bracelet-making materials, a guest host and real stories from the field
