Establishing a New Partnership:
A Visit to Laos

At Good Neighbours Australia, we’re always inspired when we witness the tangible impact of our work through the efforts of our implementing partners. This year, we had the privilege of visiting Good Neighbors Laos to see, first-hand, the significant impacts their programs and projects are having amongst remote and rural communities in the country.

Good Neighbours Australia’s Executive Director Sylvia and Campaign Manager Belinda travelled to Laos in mid 2025, to formalise our new partnership, meet with key stakeholders and explore program opportunities with community leaders and participants.

Five people, members of Good Neighbours Australia and Good Neighbors Laos, stand indoors in front of a wall with the Good Neighbors Laos logo, a map, and a green banner saying “Good Change for the World.”
Five people sit around a table in a meeting room in Vietnam. Three are signing documents while two observe. Posters and a Good Neighbours banner are displayed on the walls, with green curtains hanging behind them.

Since its establishment in 2012, Good Neighbors Laos has been at the forefront of major community development projects in the Meun district (Vientiane province) and Mok district (Xiengkhuang province). These projects are rooted in a community-based approach to education, aiming to improve access to quality learning through integrated and inclusive efforts.

In alignment with Good Neighbours’ shared global vision of ‘empowering people, transforming communities,’ Good Neighbors Laos is also focused on improving health outcomes, particularly for mothers and children, giving more educational opportunities for children, while also building skilled and resilient communities through income-generating activities.

We look forward to supporting and collaborating with them in these endeavours in the years to come.
