Sydney Kids - Unleash Your Creativity for a Cause
Looking for ways to use your NSW Government Creative Kids Vouchers before they expire on the 30th of June?
Join our Creative Kids Crafternoon event on June 3 in Burwood, and decorate some 150 gift bags to send to disadvantaged children in Vietnam.
Children and their carers can use their NSW Government Creative Kids Vouchers to attend the event, or purchase general admission tickets for entry to this fun-filled community crafternoon. There’s even a DIY home option, if you can’t make it to the event.

“The Creative Kids Crafternoon is a great way for parents to educate their children about giving back to those less fortunate. Decorating these gift sacks helps children understand there are kids on the other side of the world who need basics like clothes, food and school supplies”, said Sylvia Lee, Executive Director of GNAU.
GNAU first piloted the community crafternoon concept in December, 2022 when gift sacks were decorated by Sydney children and sent as gifts to children in Vietnam. Filled with special items the gift bags were distributed to children at our partner community, where the average household income is less than $150 (USD) a month.
“Most families rely on subsistence farming for their income, in this northern Vietnamese region. Kids often have to help their families generate this income, so your support helps these children greatly in turn”, said Ha Dong, Team Leader, Good Neighbours, Vietnam.
At the 2023 Creative Kids Crafternoon, children will be given calico sacks pre-printed with an illustration to colour in and decorate with craft supplies and plenty of imagination. Every decorated gift bag will be packed up and sent to Vietnam for filling and distribution to children in need.
