Stories of #GoodChange
After the Earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria

I want to go to school and study. I want to play with my friends during gym time.
Atalai, 12 years old, is one of the children rescued in Kahramanmaras, Türkiye. It was supposed to be a busy school year for Atalai, but since two deadly earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria struck, kids like him face an uncertain future, enduring the harsh reality of losing his home, his school, and even his family and friends.
More than a month since the life-shattering earthquakes in Türkiye and northwest Syria, the recovery process from the disaster will take months, often years, for grieving survivors. Grappling with rising needs and challenges, families and vulnerable children rebuilding their lives post-disaster need your help now more than ever.
Through the rubble in Türkiye
In February, our Good Neighbours global emergency response team rushed to help the affected areas. Our team is working closely with local community organisations to ensure the effective and efficient distribution of post-disaster assistance to affected communities in central Türkiye. Our team delivered relief kits and set up child-friendly spaces and psychosocial services for vulnerable children in Adana, Kahramanmaras, Antakya, Kırıkhan, and Adıyaman in Türkiye.
Lending a helping hand to Syria
After weeks of struggling to enter Syria because of restrictions, our team was finally able to connect with local partners and will be deploying psychosocial support and child protection services to earthquake-stricken Syrian communities. Our global team on the ground is also initiating long-term collaborations with local partners to provide further financial and practical support to the more communities.
