Stories of #GoodChange

January 2023

Humanitarian projects your donation will help this 2023

2023 is going to be Good Neighbours Australia’s fifth year in the land down under, and our team is thrilled to kick off this milestone with you! Continuing our mission to empower people and transform communities, here is a quick preview of the humanitarian projects that your donation will be helping this 2023.

Intergenerational Art Project

Intergenerational Art Project aims to foster connections between young adults and elderly community members. This year, thanks to the support of the NSW Government, we are organising another Intergenerational Art Project with the members of our community and we hope that you will be part of it. Whether you have never painted or haven’t painted in years, join us in an afternoon of creativity and building meaningful connections with our elderly community members.

Be A Good Neighbour Campaign

This year, we hope to encourage more people to engage with their neighbours in and outside Australia. Through the Be A Good Neighbour campaign, we hope to encourage more people to make the world a place where people live together in harmony. Stay tuned!

Creative Kids Crafternoon

Christmas Crafternoon was a huge success in 2022, and this year, we look forward to seeing more of our members sit down together for an afternoon of fun and creativity for a cause. Last year, we were able to provide Santa sacks to kids in need in Vietnam and we are grateful to all our sponsors for making this possible.

This year, we hope to continue this humanitarian mission not only during Christmas time but over other occasions as well. Stay tuned for the Creative Kids Crafternoon events.

Good Barber Project

In 2022, through the donations from our partner The Good Barber Shop in Melbourne, we were able to send young aspiring hairdressers to barber training in Vietnam. The project aimed to provide an avenue for disadvantaged youth to expand their skill set and equip them with better opportunities in the future. Many students have successfully completed the barber training, while others midway through the course this quarter.

One Family, Two Pigs Project

One of our humanitarian projects is the One Family, Two Pigs, a income generation project for families in Tan Bac and Yen Thanh Commune in Quang Binh District, Vietnam. Through your support, we were able to provide pigs that were either sold or bred by the benefitting families.

Lastly, our team is working hard to reduce poverty in the most disadvantaged communities across the globe. With your support, we can continue implementing humanitarian projects that protect children’s rights, strengthen global partnerships, advocate for the rights of the vulnerable, and respond to emergencies here in Australia and overseas.

Join us in continuing our mission this 2023.
